Experience gained from almost 30 years of collecting guitars provides Jordi with the knowledge and inspiration to begin this amazing project

More prototypes were shown at Namm 2016.
We were looking for more feedback from guitarists, industry figures and the specialised guitar press
2018
Encouraged by feedback from these Namm shows and a drive to bring innovation to the guitar market, after 18 prototypes and 3 years of research, we were ready to begin production.
2022
On April 23, 2022 we officially launched Canivell Guitars to coincide with the great festival of culture in our country.
We are confident that we have created instruments of the finest quality, with technological innovations that will help guitarists to build their own sound.
Our guitars are a tribute to the American guitars of the mid 20th century that we admire so much. We learned everything we know from those classics and now Canivell guitars are available for you.
1986
Jordi Canivell starts his guitar collection with a Fender Stratocaster of the same year.
He’s astonished by the wide variety of replacement pickups available for every type of guitar
2015
Encouraged by the results of the first prototype, a team is formed that will spend the next few years working on prototypes
Jordi Gavaldà and Pau Ferrer (engineers), Jordi Pros(luthier), Marcel Cavallé and David Soler (guitarists), Xavier Sabaté (electronics), Tomo (painter), Jordi Canivell (designer)
These prototypes were enthusiastically received at Namm 2015 and we came away with encouraging feedback
2017
Our third batch of prototypes concluded the development stage and we had finally arrived at our current configuration.
Again, these guitars received a positive reception at Namm 2017.
2021
Transforming our prototypes into production guitars with the quality and standards we demanded took a further 3 years.
During those years, we chose the tonewoods and each of the component parts with extreme care.
In addition, we designed our own electronic control circuits to match and enhance any pickup system on the market.
